HiLCOS provides the software. The BAT series provides the hardware. Each product in the BAT family targets a specific combination of performance, environmental protection, and market requirements.

The OpenBAT is Hirschmann’s flagship industrial WLAN access point for harsh environments. It supports IEEE 802.11n with 3x3 MIMO for up to 450 Mbps gross bandwidth.

The V.24 interface enables automatic point-to-point connections between train carriages when they couple. The OpenBAT detects the physical connection and automatically establishes the wireless link.

The BAT867-R is a rack-mount access point supporting IEEE 802.11ac for up to 867 Mbps. It targets applications where high throughput is needed in a controlled environment.

The BAT450-F is a ruggedized IP65/67 access point designed for transportation applications. It meets EN 50155 (rolling stock) and E1 (road vehicles) approvals.

The BAT867-F is the fastest wireless device in Hirschmann’s portfolio. It combines IEEE 802.11ac performance with IP65/67 ruggedization.

The BAT WLC Controller provides centralized management of multiple BAT access points. All BAT devices operate either as standalone access points or as managed access points under WLC control.

With the WLC controller:

  • Configure all access points from a single interface
  • Monitor WLAN coverage and client associations
  • Manage WIDS alerts centrally
  • Push firmware updates to all access points simultaneously

BAT867-F for maximum speed in harsh environments

867 Mbps with IP65/67 protection and -40 to +70°C operation. Use it where high throughput and ruggedization are both required.

BAT450-F for railway applications

EN 50155 and E1 certified. The V.24 interface enables automatic train carriage coupling. Use it for rolling stock and road vehicles.
